The Interfaith Alliance

An interfaith movement for
Pennsylvanians committed to the
American values of justice,
equality and compassion.

The Interfaith Alliance of Pennsylvania is a statewide, grassroots network of people of faith and good will prepared to advocate for social justice and religious liberty, and to protest when religion is manipulated for political purposes or to oppress others.

We encourage people of faith and good will to work together to speak out in support of religious liberty with the message that

  • the many faiths in our nation strengthen each other, and
  • government serves the people best when it leaves room for religious diversity.
ATTENTION!   FIRST ANNUAL STATEWIDE CONFERENCE

Market Square Presbyterian Church
Monday, November 12, 2007
9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
20 S. Second Street
Harrisburg, PA

On November 12, The Interfaith Alliance of Pennsylvania (TIA-PA) will hold a statewide conference to set the future direction of our organization and program. The conference will bring together individuals from across the state who are supportive of the mission of TIA-PA in order to create a more effective statewide network.

Your attendance, your commitment and your input are needed to assure the continued growth and expansion of our goal of assuring religious freedom for everyone.

The agenda will include an opportunity for full participation by every attendee. Several themes will be stressed, in support of our national mission: to protect religious freedom, to preserve the sanctity of religion and remind Americans of its healing and prophetic role, and to return civility and integrity to the political process:

  • Assuring that candidates for elected office at all levels support religious liberty for individuals of all faiths.
  • Developing TIA-PA  into a statewide network of individuals to increase our influence with the Pennsylvania legislature.
  • Discerning the priority issues for TIA-PA

We are pleased to announce that our theme speaker will be Allen G. Kukovich of Westmoreland County. Mr. Kukovich is a former state senator and now serves as Senior Aide to Governor Edward Rendell.

Maximum attendance is important. So that we can order the correct number of lunches, fill out the Registration Form below and mail it to us by Nov. 10. The Conference fee is ten dollars to cover the lunch cost, but if you make a contribution to TIA-PA, the conference fee will be waived.

Parking is available at the Market Square Garage next to the church on Second Street. (If this lot is full, park at the Chestnut Street Garage behind the Crowne Plaza hotel).   The parking fee is $14.00. If you are staying overnight, let us know if you need hotel information. If you have any questions, contact us at interfaithalliance@pa.net. We look forward to seeing you November 12.
